And The Numbers are Going Up…
posted on October 26, 2010 by bwandersee
That’s right kids, you heard me. Last week’s Episode “High School Confidential/Murder in Greektown” pulled in close to 8.3 million viewers. That’s a jump of almost one million since last week. Sounds to me like this freshman drama is hitting its stride. I know I like it. And who knows what tomorrow brings. We’ll see you all here at 11:01 after the show.

I have seen every episode of Detroit 1-8-7 and love it. I am thrilled the series has been picked up for 5 more episodes and I hope it will get a full season. The actors are getting much more comfortable in their roles and defining them with each new episode. I love Michael Imperioli I have watched everything he has been in over the years. His tough on the outside, teddy bear on the inside role is so cute. All the actors are doing a wonderful job, please keep it going! I have only written about a series twice in my life, I’m 63yrs old, so this means a lot.
Thanks for coming to our town.

I’m really hoping this show sticks. I don’t watch cop drama’s but I haven’t missed an epsiode of this one. It has all of the ingredients of a becoming a phenom. It would be a big shame if it wasn’t renewed.
I’m from Michigan and I think it’s great that this show is filmed there. I hope it’s the beginning of great things not only for Detroit but for the entire state.
This is the best show on tv right now. It’s so different from other cop drama’s. It’s character driven, gritty and funny! But it’s not over the top funny so it fits. Imperioli is the only one who could play Fitch they way he should be portrayed. I love his character’s combination of confidence in his job and being socially awkward. It’s endearing and human. He does a superb job! I’m also enjoying learning about the other characters as well.
Keep this show ABC!

This is what I think, and don’t rag on me, because I adore Michael Imperioli, BUT I need him to hit his stride and believe in himself as an actor the way he did as Christopher in the Sopranos. Once this kid believes in this role and embraces it AND Detroit – we are very loyal fans – just ask Steve Yzerman
– “187″ (it’s new abbreviated nickname – which is a shoe-in for makin’ it!)will have staying power. Trust me, I am very perceptive! xoxo

Another great episode! Shocker of an ending!

Loved tonight’s episode ( Oct. 16,2010 ) Anyone know what the name of the song that was played in the last minutes of the show or who sang it?
Diane Reed on October 27, 2010
I love this show and hope it continues for the whole season.

Another Great episode!! Thank You ABC! My husband, daughter and I stop everything to watch Detroit 187 as soon as it’s on, it’s an instant favorite.
Please keep this entire season and order more seasons to follow. I love the characters and the stories. Tonight’s episode was excellent.
Keep showing Detroit 187!

My 23-year-old son and I don’t agree on many things ranging from music, movies, cars and food. But after he watched Detroit 187 at our home in Hawaii three weeks, he’s a true believer and hooked on the Motown-based cop show. Normally, he watches Sons of Anarchy, a host of reality programming and tons of sports to name a few. Detroit 187 is one of the few network shows that he talks about. Good news for ABC — hot demographics. I’m 63 and my wife is 56 and we love the drama, humor, characters and story lines. A real must for us.

I’m super excited that ABC has decided to give us MORE of Detroit 187…This is my new favorite drama, hands down!! With all the reality tv, I’m glad to see a comeback of what televison was built on. KEEP WATCHING FOLKS, SO WE CAN MAKE THIS THE #1 DRAMA NEXT YEAR!!
Chin Thammasaengsri on October 27, 2010
I have to say that Detroit 187 is one of the season’s best and this is coming from a guy who has worked for 20 years at competing network CBS. it’s been a long time since TV has had a basic, character driven drama. In fact, I think we’d have to look back at the days of Hill Street Blues and Dragnet for that kind of drama. I am happy to say that I read that ABC will pick more episodes of the series which I believe will lead to a full season order. After a terrible last season, I think ABC has a winner in Detroit 187. For me, it is APPOINTMENT TV. Everything stops at 10PM on Tuesday night for me.

I love this show!! Please pick this up for a full season. I can say I have a replacement for Law and Order and am loving it!

To Head Rush – The song that I think you’re looking for from last night’s show was The Black Keys “Things Ain’t Like They Used To Be”. It was truly awesome…I LOVE who is putting the soundtrack together for each episode!! You can easily find & buy the music from each episode by going to ABC’s Music Lounge (on the ABC homepage under the search bar on the upper right corner click on “music”). I finally found where to find it after much investigating. I LOVE this show…and I love you people for loving it!!
) Please don’t let it get cancelled.

Love this show. My husband and I have watched every episode and rarely watch anything but cable tv. This show is well written and acted. The cast is outstanding and the music is terrific. ABC, don’t doom this series. You executives at ABC need to learn how to give shows a chance. By the way, Life on Mars was excellent as was the Unusuals but you just don’t give things enough time. Also, Scrubs – AWFUL!!!

Am not a “praying person,” but I have to admit I pray every night (to myself) that this series does not get cancelled. I realize a lot of folks don’t like the excessive use of the hand-held camera, but I think it adds a certain realism to the show. Am absolutely in love with all the surprise endings; very creative. Great show!

I have two daughters that live in the Detroit area. This series has brought to light a much needed realistic look at an overlooked urban area. I like the honesty and integrity of the characters in the middle of some very tough situations. This week’s episoed was no esception. I agree with David–I pray this show continues!

This show is awesome, and original, which is rare for a cop drama/comedy. It’s so good, I fully expect it to be pulled off the air one day
But I keep watching and telling others about it, because it deserves to go the distance.
There’s so many little details that go into the show that make it seem so much more “real” than other television shows. It’s those little details that make this show stand out!

Great cast and excellent stories. We watch every week!!!

Please do NOT ever cancel this show! I absolutely love its raw, meaningful episodes. It’s deep, emotional, intriguing and evocative. The casting is impeccable and story lines are superior. This show has all the other reality-crime-shows beneath it.
Andrew Kokas on November 5, 2010
This is a good show. It keeps Americans tuned into their crime dramas, but with a twist. Please keep up the good work.

Hi,
I am a librarian at the Chandler Park Branch Library. 12800 Harper. Would love for a cast member to come to my library and inspire my teen group.
Call me at the library. 313 481-1561.
Thank you for your consideration.
Kathy Martin on November 13, 2010
Please, please, please keep this show going. My husband and I are so hooked. We are enjoying watching the characters coming to life! We love all the music!
J. Babcock on November 17, 2010
This is the best new show on TV. M. Imperioli
has developed the most interesting character since “Bobby Goren”(LAOCI).I have watched every episoded and encouraged everyone I know to watch.

I have to say..I am totally impressed with this show, the actors work so well together. I like how they are giving you bits and pieces regarding Michael Imperoli’s character..Afer reading all these post’s for the show..Good going ABC..PLease renew this show for years to come..Thank you..
Summer on November 27, 2010
I like the show, but if it’s to be believed shouldn’t there be more african american victims? The majority of Detroit’s population is African American so it’s a little hard to believe that every victim is white.
Cute chick on November 28, 2010
Love, Love, Love this show. My husband and I NEVER miss an episode. If they don’t renew this show I think I will boycott the network. Please keep this show on the air. What a fantastic cast!!!
Lorraine Dwan on December 1, 2010
This show is excellent. My husband and I tune in religiously to the show. It is just in it’s infancy so we hope it won’t be cancelled! We have stopped watching Good Wife, also an excellent show, to watch 187. Please give Detroit a chance!!!

I LOVE THIS SHOW! Detective Fitch is such an interesting character and Michael Imperioli does an excellent job playing the role. The rest of the cast is amazing as well, but Fitch is my favorite. I never miss an episode, so this show better not get cancelled or I will be very disappointed!
Diane on March 22, 2011
I am NOT from Detroit…..and this is the BEST SHOW….right next to NCIS!!! DON’T CANCEL!!!!!!! Give it an earlier time slot…..more people would be hooked!!! Great characters!!!! Exciting storylines!!!!
Tracy on March 23, 2011
I really LOVE this show. I never missed an episode. I feel this show can go far if given a chance. Many people I have talked with said that they enjoyed the show as well. I’ve lived in Chicago for five years and just moved back home to the Detroit area and I think this was the best homecoming gift. All the new shows are located in other urban cities, Chicago, Dallas, L.A and New York. I think Detroit is just as wonderful and challenging as other urban cities. I like that Detroit 187 shows the wonderful and caring people here in Detroit and the way we do not cave to hard times. Detroit will rise again and I would really like Detroit 187 to be a very large part of our RESPECT comback!!!! The cast is truly talented and have great chemistry. I need my Detroit 187 fix!
r. izer on March 26, 2011
This show is a class act. We have seen the characters evolve and really pull us in to the inner working of the show. Lets not be rash. Remember Seinfeld had mediocre rating initially. In its own way, this show is more riveting than anything else today. Please give Detroit its legitimate due. The finale was awesome. Finch’s (Imperioli’s) real life son was really great to the plot of things. Don’t throw a good thing away.
Britt Reed on March 27, 2011
If Detroit 187 is not renewed, I will boycott ABC
bob webster on April 5, 2011
i thought to my opinion that Detroit 182 was one of the best police shows I have seen in years I really hope ABC will give it another try if not oh well. I don’t think they know the lost of such a great show will play on their future
halina novakovich on April 6, 2011
Love this show , please ABC keep this show for next season.
jim rinaldi schwesig on April 20, 2011
In the television business world, the bottom line(dollars and cents), based on ratings determine a shows existance. I just hope those who calculate ratings data are accurate and unbias. This is one great show with an excellent cast helping to showcase a gritty but unrelenting city. God bless Imperioli and the future of ‘the D’.
