Shaun Majumder
Born in Burlington, Newfoundland and Labrador in 1972, this actor and comedian got his professional start early. Majumder started out as an announcer on the Canadian kids game show “CLIPS”, and was soon hosting the YTV network’s most popular morning kids show, “Brain Wash”. In 2003, he joined the cast of the Canadian comedy show “This Hour Has 22 Minutes”.
Majumder has won two Gemini Awards from the Canadian television broadcasting industry. In addition to his stand-up comedy work, He has also appeared in the feature films “The Ladies Man” and “Harold and Kumar go to White Castle”.
Shaun plays the role of Detective Aman Mahajan, the Americanized son of Indian immigrants. Sgt. Longford’s partner in crime-solving, Mahajan moved to America from Bombay when he was five after his dad took an engineering position at Ford. Like his father, Mahajan got an engineering degree but then thoroughly disappointed his parents by becoming a cop.
Longford and Mahajan may look like an improbable dynamic duo, but they have an inherent trust and respect for each other’s abilities as well as a genuine affection. Though he has a wicked sense of humor, Mahajan never jokes about work, “The most difficult thing about homicide is when you know who did it and you can’t prove it. That kills me.” This is a cop who cares.

A huge fan of Raj Binder aka Shaun…as a Newf he will bring humour and grace as well as a shrewdness to his role. Looking forward to the show not just because I live across the river from Detroit, safely in Canada, but to enjoy Shaun’s acting.

Unfortunately, I missed the first episode last week and was very disappointed tonight when I thought I would watch it online. I couldn’t watch it because I am in Ontario and have to be in the states to view this show. If someone knows a site where I can see this show, please post it here. Thanks!

I have been a fan of Shaun Majumder for years and am so pleased that he got this role – I watched in Victoria BC. I hope this lasts a long time for Shaun and that he’s making the big bucks!

I live across the river from Detroit and I am a big fan of the show. Love the fact that Shaun who is Canadian and soooo funny is part of it also since I have watched him on all his other shows.

Having seen Shaun’s comedy before at home in Nova Scotia, I knew he was funny as hell. Didn’t realise he was such a great actor. Great show, great role, hope it continues for many seasons.

I love the show, Sometimes predictable by about 10 minutes into the show, I think the writers have to develop some deep plot lines. Otherwise the filming, format and style of the show is quite good. As a Canadian, I am a fan of Shawn, this man is funny! You Tube “Raj Binder” and watch some of his clips from 22 minutes- fantastic. Actually his talents are being lost on this show, although once he gets a good line in there
