Multi-talented, multiplatinum recording artist, actor and television personality Xzibit will guest star in an upcoming episode of  “Detroit 1-8-7.”  Xzibit will play hustler turned businessman Russell Pitts, a record producer specializing in hip-hop artists.

   Originally from Detroit, Xzibit’s role reflects the series producers’ ongoing effort to showcase local Detroit talent. Best known for hosting MTV’s “Pimp My Ride” for six seasons, Xzibit will return as one of three new designers on the eighth season of ABC’s Emmy Award-winning series, “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.” Last season he was a “Get on the Bus” celebrity volunteer, and was so moved by the experience that he was asked to be a part of the “EM: HE” design team.

   In addition to television, Xzibit has appeared on the big screen, with roles in “X-Files,” “Derailed,” “Bad Lieutenant” and “Gridiron Gang.” His last album was “Full Circle,” which was released in October 2006. He currently has a digital 45 single now available on iTunes, “Phenom/Hurt Locker.”
