Detective Fitch and his partner, Det. Washington, who is working his first day in Homicide (while simultaneously waiting for the birth of his first child) respond to a double homicide at a pharmacy. They find a man shot in the head, and a female pharmacy technician shot five times. Also, two cases of oxycontin are missing. Det. Sanchez joins the two on the investigation.

In the meantime, Detectives Longford and Mahajan get a call regarding a dead vagrant on a train. The vagrant turns out to be a divorce lawyer, shot in the chest. The two find the victim’s car parked on a bridge, apparently involved in a rear-end collision. While checking security tape, they see a man ram the lawyer’s car, get out, and shoot him.

Back at the precinct, narcotics detective Stone brings in a junkie caught carrying oxy stolen from the pharmacy.

During interrogation he gives up the name and phone number of the dealer he got it from. Stone sets up a buy, and after a car and foot chase, the dealer is brought in. Washington unsuccessfully interrogates him, while Fitch finally cracks him by saying nothing at all. The dealer confesses to stealing the oxy, but tells the detectives that the people were already dead when he did.

The lab turns up a fingerprint on the shell casing found by Longford and Mahajan by the lawyer’s car. It belongs to James Burke, a convict and ex-husband of the dead pharmacy tech. Believing Burke to be in jail, a quick call discovers that he had been paroled the day before. At the same time a homicide call comes in- Burke’s parole officer has been shot and killed.

With all three cases now connected, the squad heads to Burke’s mother’s house, where his ex-wife and children have been living. The mother and children are gone, so they decide to talk to the ex-wife’s boyfriend. When they get to his apartment, he’s gone, and there are signs of a struggle. Getting a tip from some bystanders, they set off in search of Burke’s car. Sanchez finds him and is chasing him when Burke tosses the boyfriend out the passenger door. She swerves to miss him, and crashes. Fitch arrives on the scene, and rescues her from her burning car.

A caller tip to the precinct places Burke and the children at an apartment in the Loft District. A standoff ensues after Burke takes a potshot at Fitch and Washington through the door. With time running out, Fitch decides to go in alone and talk Burke down. His strategy works, and he walks Burke out the door into custody, saving the grandmother and kids.

As the squad heads back to the office, we learn that Stone has been promoted to homicide, and will be partnered with Sanchez. Washington and Fitch take Burke to lockup, and hand him off to a uniformed officer. As they turn to leave, Burke pulls free of the officer, grabs his gun and shoots Washington, as Fitch draws and fires at him. As Fitch is tending to his wounded partner, Washington’s cell phone rings- his wife is in labor.

I think the pilot was good. But it sounded like all the Cops ARE NOT from Detroit. I have lived here all my life and have had the opportunity to do a lot of traveling and I listen to dialect very close, They are not sounding like Michiganders at all.

I watched your 2 min. video of the show. I’m excited for the show to premiere. But, I have had family members who were Detroit cops and some that still are. The way your cops talk do not sound like they are from Detroit or the suburbs. People in Michigan don’t talk that way. Your female officer is way to over board. The humor was pretty close. But, like I said it was a 2 min. video so I’m hopeing the show gets better as it goes and last a long time. I also hope the show shows some positive stuff of Detroit and the surounding cities.

Too bad you couldn’t find one actor from Michigan to cast. They might have helped keep it real. I will watch anyways because I miss the city and the people. Remember, Detroit has produced many of the greatest inventions and talent in the world. It’s not all negative. Go Wings!
